So, is this a good thing or a bad thing to you? It seems like he's following the Libertarian stance on this one and not interfering in the private sector.

To me it's bad, and yet another example of why the Obama administration isn't living up to my hopes. In my ideal world, executive pay would not be limited to a specific number, but to (for example) 50 times the pay of the lowest-paid worker in their company. That way, if they want to give themselves raises, they would have to also give the cleaning staff raises too. Obviously, that's a simplistic system and there's have to be extra rules to protect the workers in the middle, but I'd really like to see something along those lines.
